Developing IoT with the Samsung ARTIK Platform

9:00am - 1:00pm / Room #1, 1st Floor

Let's develop for ARTIK! This exclusive, hands-on workshop will cover IoT from sensor to cloud with ARTIK as the centerpiece, using tools including Arduino, Temboo, Node-RED. We will start with board bring-up, IoT basics, then construct a smart trash can network using sensors and web services, and let the trash cans talk to each other with M2M. In addition, we will introduce Cloud integration and available IoT middleware options.

 

Getting to Know the KNOX SDKs

Join us for a hands-on experience with the KNOX SDKs. In this workshop, we will focus on various features, including Mobile Device Management, Kiosk mode, application and data security. We'll also deep dive into how you can easily and efficiently enhance and integrate your applications with KNOX SDKs.

 

Gear VR: Developing Apps for the Virtual World

Venture into the virtual world! Join us as we explore app and game development for Samsung Gear VR. We will cover everything from setting up your development environment and devices to building a fully functioning app for Gear VR. In addition, we will discuss best practices for development and optimization, along with how to publish an app in the Oculus store.

 

Printing with the Smart UX SDK

Printing is the second largest business in the IT device market, growing steadily over the last several years. Most printing B2B applications deal with security scanning and printing under custom user authentication. More recently, there has been a surge in demand for cloud and mobile solutions. To better serve the needs of this emerging market and address common development problems, Samsung Printing has introduced the Smart UX SDK, a simple Android-based SDK that is easy-to-use, even for developers with little or no experience with printing related technologies. This workshop will explore how the Smart UX SDK enables developers to quickly integrate MFP features in their applications.

Tizen TV SDK & App Development for Tizen TV

This session will provide an overview of features supported in the Tizen TV SDK for creating new applications, services and business models. By combining the size, input, and multimedia benefits of a TV with the power of web based technologies, developers can create enriched applications and new experiences for their users. 

 

Developing for Gear S2

Join us as we dive into the Gear Ecosystem. We will cover everything from app development with SDKs and tools to publishing in the Gear store. We will also explore the Gear market, along with various app types and uses cases. Additionally, we will introduce the Gear Watch Designer (GWD), a tool that can turn you into a Gear watchface creator, even if you have no coding knowledge.

 

Project Beyond: Filming for VR

Come meet some of the creatives who have cut their teeth on prototype Project Beyond devices. Project Beyond aims to create the most advanced and automated 3D 360 cameras in the world, and in the process, puts the focus directly on the creative process. In this hands-on workshop, you will be able to learn from their experiences, try out some of the prototypes, and discuss the ins-and-outs of creative filmography and production in 3D 360 format.

Join us for this interactive lab and learn how to develop for the SmartThings Platform. We’ll give you an introduction to our platform, coding with Groovy and SmartApps. You’ll get started building your first SmartApp with hands-on coding and guidance from SmartThings developer advocates. Bring your laptop and curiosity.
